To English Speaking Readers

I am the author of a number of non-fiction books, among them three books on the murder of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme. My latest book, Huvudet på en påle ("The Head on a Pole") is about severe threats to democracy in countries which are considered democratic. The latter half of the book is about the Palme case, and especially about the witness statements made by his surviving wife, Lisbeth Palme.

The latest of my books which is entirely devoted to the Palme case, Konspiration Olof Palme ("The Olof Palme Conspiracy") was published in September 2015. In that book I go deep into the the most important questions concerning the murder - who and why? I place the murder in the international Cold War context and show the threads to powerful and determined enemies of the Swedish Prime Minister. In the book I also describe my contacts with Eva Rausing who wrote to me to tell me what she believed was the truth about the murder. I also tell the remarkable story about the Swedish Defense Attache in Washington at the time of the Palme murder and the information he almost immediately got from a source in the Pentagon pointing to a possible American involvement in the assassination.

My first book on the Palme case, Mörkläggning - statsmakten och Palmemordet ("Blackout - the Government and the Palme Murder"), was published in 1997. It is one of the most well known works on the assassination of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme. It received the Golden Shovel, the Swedish prize för investigative journalism. The main focus on this first Palme book is the story about how the police, the prosecutors and the government botched the investigation during the first years. My conclusion is that the most important reason for that failure was that the authorities simply were afraid of the truth.

A large part of the book describes the real story behind the Ebbe Carlsson affair, a political scandal in the late eighties that was strongly related to the Palme murder.

More recently, in 2010, I published a second book on the same subject, Mordgåtan Olof Palme ("Olof Palme - a Murder Mystery"). The book critically examined the allegations that the alcoholic and small-time criminal Christer Pettersson was the perpetrator of the Palme murder.

In 2014 my first crime novel was published in Swedish. It is called Maktens mörka korridorer, ("The Dark Hallways of Power").

I have also written non-fiction books dealing with subjects as the September 11 terror attacks, organized crime, fraud, espionage and conspiracies. As yet none of my books are available in English.
